No matter what your politics, we in the USA are blessed to live in a country where freedom rings. Having lived in 3 other countries, I cherish freedom. When I saw this video, it gave me pause. How can you use positive psychology to unite brotherhood?
To weave together the threads of kindness, fairness, and teamwork?
Can you imagine what we might accomplish if all over the world, we could open the doors to peaceful positivity?
Forgiveness, curiosity, capacity to love?
Zest and appreciation of life’s artistry?
Heck, take all 24 character strengths and fan them across the globe.
All human beings have the potential to reflect their goodness.
Man oh, man, I realize this sounds trite even as I type it.
And why couldn’t the UN accomplish this?
I just had a fantasy of Dr. Chris Peterson and Dr. Martin Seligman getting up in front of the UN discussing their Values in Action (VIA) strengths research findings with their collective ambassadors’ heads nodding in understanding approval.
The Beatles were so right on… “Imagine.”
