Want to live longer? Sounds good at first. But has it crossed your mind that living longer could be a real bite in the butt if you don’t know how to live it joyfully. Aches and pains and all. Gratitude that your neurons are still firing, even if a tad bit more slowly.
Remember that phrase, “Age gracefully?” The heck with that.
In her new book, You Could Live a Long Time: Are You Ready?, sociologist Lyndsay Green interviewed 40 seniors identified as role models for aging well by the people who know them. What she discovered is that money matters far less than learning to laugh about your hearing aid. Want to live longer? Sounds good at first. But did it cross your mind living longer could be a real bite in the butt if you didn’t know how to live it joyfully.
If you want to live longer, haul out your joke books, explore ways to keep learning, and most of all, continue to have fun. Hone your humor strength, share your smiles with others, and laugh out loud.
Go ahead!
Is that you I hear laughing?
I always did love your cool cackle.
