Multi-tasking Maneuver Or Mind Melt?

Multi-tasking Maneuver Or Mind Melt?

© 2010 Dr. Judy Krings

My exceptionally adorable college roommate, Carol, and I nostalgically reminisced awhile back. She told me there was one thing she vividly remembered about me and wished she could emulate. Eyebrows raised and my mind searching, I had no clue.

She graciously answered, “You never wasted time. You were the best multi-tasker and always finished your mission to get stuff done.” Ironic, as I envied her lay back, cool and calm nature. She said she had made a promise to herself to learn to be more focused, and she had. And every time she accomplished doing more than one thing at once, she felt proud of herself and smiled, remembering our Roanoke College days.

Do you think women pride themselves in toting that barge and lifting that bale simultaneously? Of course the latest research relates you are less efficient juggling more than one thing at a time. And here I thought multi-tasking was an art form! I swear I don’t know a single woman who doesn’t pride herself in switching gears faster than a Nascar driver.

Have some fun and take this short little quiz. I’d love to know how you did.

Is that you I see still tossing up those balls and juggling along side of me?
Great club, even if we do drop a few balls once in awhile.
