Scents Make Memory Sense

The strangest thing happened this morning, I woke up thinking about scents. You already know I’m used to weird thoughts when I awake. I have grown to enjoy their curious creativity. I sit into the moment and shake my head with wonder. But fun is fun, and I love to start the day this way.

“Aunt Annie’s” Welcoming Porch

Look, its Grandpa Ken relaxing on the Annie’s shady porch. He is sucking up the pleasure, like my garden in the rain after a two-week draught. The big bowl of delicious cheese is calling his name. Fresh, squeaky cheese curds and string cheese always tastes better with a backdrop of busy kids petting barking dogs and purring cats.

his brief freedom by clawing his way around Grandpa’s head. Looks like Melonhead has a mustache addiction.
The welcoming porch is just an hors d’oeurve preparing us for the main course, the inside of Aunt Annie’s cabin itself. Watch out great room, here we come!
As we enter the serene sound of geese honking overhead welcome us. Even in its largesse that big room is calmly welcoming. The enormous log beams, too large for Grammy to get her arms around, stand guard in all their majestic beauty, power, and strength. They frame the spectacular stone fireplace, quite honored to hold the reigns of a stellar hand-carved horse. He prances in full glory high above the homey great room below. Loving his new home in the woods, this former city steed knows he is lucky. Luxuriating in his new lofty perch he views the brilliant turquoise pond through the window. He also naughtily neighs at the sight of Aunt Annie’s makeshift horse corral. This bears some further explaining.
