Even Hummingbirds Pause

Do you love hummingbirds as much as I do? Symbolic little critters whose delicate wings sprinkling fairy dust bliss every time I see one. To me, miniature good luck charms. Amazingly swift, they flap away, always delicately hitting their tasty nectar target. We had four species enjoying our feeders all summer. What a treat! One was here last week, braving the chill.

Optimization vs. Balance

One of my executive clients and I were discussing his relationship values. A married guy with quiet, humble brilliance, he was waxing philosophical about meaning, fulfillment, and joy. A discussion re: his lifestyle balance ensued. He cracked up when I brought up “balance” and what it meant to him. I asked, “If you are not in balance, does that mean you are off balance?”
