Take the “How’s Your Abundance?” Quiz

© 2011 Dr. Judy Krings

What’s Your Definition of Abundance?

Pause and think about it before you start rattling off answers! Need some help?

Here’s the easy “How’s Your Abundance” quiz!
I’ll keep it simple. Just answer yes or no:

1. I know what ENOUGH is for myself and my family.

2. I use my imagination to create a vision of what I want.

3. I make a decision to go for the gold.

4. I roll over and play dead, whine, pee and moan when times get tough.

5. If I make up my mind to do something, I do it, embracing warts and all.

6. I act and move forward with patience and persistence more than I react
with negativity.

7. I forge through life confidently infusing confidence, courage, and creativity into
everything I do.

8. I shoot for the moon and sprinkle lackluster stars with fairy dust.

9. I count my blessings every day. I work and play aware of joy along the way.

So how did you do? Get 8 outta 9? Did I get ya on #4?
I wanted to make sure you were paying attention!

Humor, ya gotta have humor to live with abundance.
At least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

What keeps abundance sitting in your front row?

Need help? That’s my job!

My Hotel Room in Exotic Cuba

© 2011 Dr. Judy Krings

Are you curious about what my hotel room looked like
at the historical Hotel National in Havana, Cuba?
OK, I’m fessing up. I already know some of you are,
as you have back-channel emailed me, begging to
see more photos! So here you go.

I’ll be sending you more photos soon, but today I’ll begin
with a couple I have not included in my new book,
“Photo Adventures in Cuba.” As you can see, my room
was clean and simple. The furniture was older, not yet
antique status, but fine. The maids were lovely. I left them
American treats every day – nylons, chocolate candy,
colored pens and paper, pencils, lollipops, combs, and
small cosmetics. Things I had researched before my trip
and knew were in short supply.

To my delightful surprise, I got personal notes of gratitude every day.
Joyfully zestful sentences festooned with flowers, hearts
and smiley faces with heartfelt messages, written in
rudimentary English. How wonderful, after a long day of sightseeing,
to be greeted with a kind thank you treat! A kiss of Cuban bliss.

Cubans often do not have even the most basic supplies.
Sad, yet they are resilient as all get out. Their genuine
appreciation of any tiny gesture melted my heart.

What are you grateful for? Who have you told? What are you waiting for?

Time ain’t standing still, ya know?

Coming and Going ~ Patience and Flower Petals

© 2011 Dr. Judy Krings

What buds burst open for you in springtime?

When I was getting ready to leave Puerto Vallarta to go back to Wisconsin world,
I admit it came with a mixed jelly bean bag of every emotion in the book.
Sadness to leave the beauty, warmth, and the sounds of the lilting waves upon
the shore below our jungle perch. Joy to know I would be seeing Mom,
the grand kids and the rest of the family. Prayers that the 6″ of snow my city
received recently would have vanished. Anticipation of planting my garden.
Stacks of mail to trudge through. My life transitioning from a waltz in Mexico
to the hubbub of home.

I was mourning my gardenia plant I have lovingly nurtured.
Patiently, I waited 4 months to savor her fragrant blooms.
Finally, wouldn’t ya know, she is ready to pop forth with 40 blooms.
Drat! I am going to miss her splendor by a day or two.

Feeling sorry for myself, I knew I needed positive psychology coaching.
I put on my gratitude grin and searched for a way to shift my perspective.
Aha! These yellow blossoms chirped cheer! Look for the good.

What is blossoming in your life right now?

What do you hope will blossom?

What to want to blossom?

What do you need to blossom?

Funny what came to mind. The words: “Today” and “Yes!”
Is that you I see dancing to the tune, “That’s the way, aha, aha, I like it. I like it?”

Puerto Vallarta Whales – WOW!

© 2011 Dr. Judy Krings

Do you like being taken off guard? Does it fire up your curiosity?

A kind lady I met in Vallarta this year recently posted this
delightful “Awww!” video.

What is thrilling is the unexpected joy. When you live in Vallarta,
you wait for the first whale sighting in November. You mourn
mid-March, when these wondrous creatures, newly born pride
and joy babies following closely, head back to Alaska.

Watching the big Moms blast off rocket spouts of water
into the sky is like eating a great meal in a 5-star restaurant.
Dessert is savored when tiny baby whales, copying their big mamas,
shoot up itsy bitsy water puffs. Sheer pleasure to behold and no calories, either!

So what’s the surprise? Our whales (we all feel like they are ours!)
have been gone for weeks! Perhaps this mama had a late delivery.
Or maybe she wanted to linger now that our waters are so warm and inviting.

Sometimes it is best not to analyze. Enjoy the journey.
Let go of the why’s.

You didn’t get any sea spray in your mouth when your jaw dropped, did you?
