Leopard Strengths Spotting

Curious? Confident? Courageous?

What order would your strengths have kicked in as you approached petting a
luxurious leopard? What spots of strengths would you notice?

How about this? Spot your strengths and write each one on the leopard’s back!

OK, you can see the trainer nearby, but my awareness was on alert.

After the tiger (you saw in a recent blog) took a playful swipe at me,
caution was riding in the front seat of my brain.
But truth be known, thrilling FUN was sitting in my lap, enjoying the ride.

What is something you have always wanted to do? What’s holding you back?

“Chicken” is also a “C” word, but so is “Creativity.”
And I know you have that!

And don’t believe ”Curiosity killed the cat,” either!

Zebras and Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Ever have one of those jaw-slacking days when the world was filled with wonder?

Yesterday was one of mine. Self-regulation hit home.
I needed to practice what I preach as a coach.
It was time to put the fork in the hay and take a break.
Like cream rising to the top, I needed some joyful relaxation into my soul.

I was thinking to myself that lately my life had been a zoo.
It was time to put what I really wanted into action.

Until recently, I hadn’t realized Puerto Vallarta had a zoo.
And it just happens to be down the road from us.
The scenic drive was a floral feast for the eyes; sweetening the fun.

This zany zebra was patient, persistent, and stood there prepared for
his carrot and bread treat delivery. Down the hatch happiness!
I loved the up-close and personal family feel for the zoo.
Purchased a bag of food and got ready for animal gratitude and sloppy kisses!
Unreal fun!

I always did adore zebras and giraffes,
but the baby Bengal tiger cubs stole my heart.

Is your curiosity strength licking its lips?
Remember that old tune, “Hold that tiger…Dah da dah…Hold that tiger!”
Teasing is part of your humor strength, right? Stay tuned…
(Hint…Tigers shed!)

Strengths ~ Colorful Friends or Dark Enemies?

What do you see? A gorgeous horizon?
Storm clouds brewing? An end or a beginning?
I saw peace and calm.

I had done a bad job of self-regulation.
I was ready for crash and burn.
I’d been writing press releases for my new book on Cuba
and had not had a break, OK, I admit it, for 14 hours.
I know, I know.  I am a coach and should know better.
I DO know, but knowing ain’t doing.
That takes awareness, a plan, and action

I had allowed my zest and perseverance strengths to take over.
Strengths are awesome, but like anything else in life you can
get too much of a good thing! Even creativity.

So which strengths zap your energy?
Maybe you are too kind and nice and give to others instead of
taking time for yourself. Or maybe you’re too cautious or
forgive others but not yourself?

Did this photo remind you of a colored Rorschach card?
What’s it remind you of? Come on, fess up.
You do remember I’m a still a shrink…
Courage, anyone?

What’s Your View?

Giving to others helps you grow. Remember Dr. Christopher Peterson reminding you if you give to others, you spiritually benefit from that gift to them more than they do? So eloquently he simply said, “Other people matter.”
