A CERTIFICATE IN APPLIED POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Flourishing Center (TFC) launches its Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) program, a 6-month journey into the science of wellbeing and flourishing in Philadelphia, PA with its first cohort to begin in March.

The program combines cutting-edge research in cognitive neuroscience, mindfulness, contemplative studies, and mind-body medicine with practical application tools for personal and professional contexts.

Scientific research shows happiness is a predictor of success whereas most people may think, “When I’m successful then I’ll be happy.” Is it no wonder stress is at an all time high in the world? Stress is the number one predictor of depression and other disorders and disease. This program helps participants train their brains towards health and healing for themselves and their social and professional networks.

CAPP draws a unique and diverse cohort of students from around the world: educators, wellness and fitness coaches, entrepreneurs, business consultants, HR, trainers and OD professionals, everyday citizens and more.

Since 2012, nearly one hundred students have earned a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) by attending one weekend-long onsite per month, participating in distance learning classes, and completing a final project to demonstrate a personal or professional application of positive psychology. There is no prerequisite other than a deep desire for learning the science of human nature and behavior.

The program is founded by Emiliya Zhivotovskaya, MAPP, PCC, ERYT and Louis Alloro, M.Ed., MAPP, two graduates of Martin Seligman’s Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program, the first of its kind, at the University of Pennsylvania.

The cost of the program is $4500; early bird discounts and scholarships are available.

Halloran Philanthropies, a global funder of wellbeing initiatives, will award four half-scholarships in the Spring of 2015. Email info@certificateinpositivepsychology.com to request a scholarship application.

Former students have been successful in crowd funding parts or all of their tuition with a promise back to their social networks: “My learning positive psychology will help you in the long run as I continue to serve the function of positive change-agent in the world.”

Note there is a limited number of students admitted to each cohort to ensure small group, intimate, and experiential learning that sets this program apart.

This Spring, programs will be run in New York, NY (starting January 2015) and San Francisco, CA (starting March 2015) as well.

Visit www.certificateinpositivepsychology.com to learn more or register for the program.
